I've been playing this game since it was released back in 2015. That's a veteran status. Picking up the game in mid 2016 isn't anywhere close to being a vet. I still think this game is quite competitive but not to the point where you have to keep spending money to keep up. GW is a easy when you have the right teams. Arena is fine once you get between 200-100. Ships is meh but a good source of shards for exclusive toons. Raids are a brilliant way to get the gear you need provided you have a good roster/guildies. Tournaments suck but I play for The resources rather than chars.
However, I do think they should have some kind of reward for people who have been playing for the games duration(since 2015). I've stuck by this game through the bullshit like the evasion meta for example. Not big reward, just something tiny to say "Hey thanks for playing our game! Here's a little reward as appreciation"
But the biggest thing that separates people is TIME. Some people are happy to wait and grind others just want stuff now now now.
