Do we know if there is anything coming out addressing the gear crunch? I love all the new content however i cant help but feel like we are getting more content than most people can keep up with. Does anyone else feel this way?Even if they ran conquest back to back and Geos more frequently that would help significantly. I’d guess it’s really how they(CG) see’s the monetary structure of their game. What I always hoped was that they’d put something out and let the big spenders have an edge for a few months, a little time later the small spenders catch up, then lastly let ftp catch up, and then release the next big thing. The thing is, with it being Star Wars, it seems they’re likely making a ton of money because the spenders will keep on spending the money. Truth to tell, I guess if I had a stake in the company I’d probably do the same thing, even knowing I don’t like like the position it leaves me in as a light spender now. It seems to be humans nature to get everything they can get out of a business. I’ve been around the game for around 4+ years and the goal post has always been moved a little farther than I would like, but the game is still here and that says a lot about the success they’re having with it whether I like it or not.

I think a nice little gesture of goodwill that they could implement VERY easily is;Revert Assault Battles back to 48 hour runtimes.This has been done before - it directly eases Kyro gear crunch, it softens zeta/omega mat crunch (though many end game players have hit parity if not saturation levels on those), it can ease signal data crunch a bit to actually allow people to farm Cantina node characters while also providing a slight increase in bottleneck gear (both directly with prizes in the lower tiers and indirectly by increasing shard store income), and mod income - and yet still incentivizes players to broaden their roster by developing teams that can complete the Challenge Tiers.Best of all, it is something they could turn on at the ‘flip of a switch’, since all the programming is already done.

Still do not understand why we don't have the next tier of the daily challenges.

It's a resource management game. Part of that is monetization, part of it is longevity. You've been dealing with it since the day you started playing and you will continue to deal with it until the day you quit.

You either skip factions, wait to farm them or you pay. That's it really. Been like that for close to 6 years now.People have spent 200K on this game. They should be the tip of the spear.If you look back every now and then there are changes to make things slightly better. Accelerated farming, cheaper refreshes etc. But don't be fooled the objective is to always make you spend more

I wish they would offer a pack every now and then that was 50 Stun gun salvage for $.99..just as a bonus to those that do not want to pay those stupidly high prices for "A CHANCE" to get x gear. CG wins by getting some money, light spenders win by getting 50 stun guns for a buck. Win-Win....but sadly...it wont happen.

Why change the crunch? They intentionally created it.

You think they DON'T know if you stack 500 kyro's in Mon Mothma for example, or 1000+ into the bad batch that it's NOT going to create a crunch? Or that if everything that requires a lvl 3 carbanti's going to create a gear crunch when you hand out level 4's like candy and never require them? Or that 90% of the gear handed out in tank rewards is basically useless..

The know, and they built it in to try and force you to spend money. It's not rocket science. If it wasn't getting people to spend money, they'd look for other things. It's not changing because it's making them the money they want.

Does it suck? yes. Do they care? No.

No...that's the point. Throw a bone by offering a sweet deal, as I said above, every now and then. What would be the downside to this? CG makes some money, players get 50 stun salvage...win-win. Why do you think all offers should be "on par"?

I was just asking, it seemed on the low side, but we dont usually have packs with that kind of stuff, so I wasnt sure.

Why wouldnt packs be on par with some "normal pricing" or value of what they are selling? From my perspective asking for something out of line of that, and acting like "they would never do that" seems like a self fulfilling prophecy.

Now if they had a pack that was offering this already, asking for a discount occasionally, seems more reasonable, but that's just me.

The only reason why I said that they won't do it is that they rarely listen (meaning add or change something in-game) to player feedback, but that's another discussion.

Other games in the space do this all the time, offer items for well below their stated, or perceived "worth". I would say the reason for this isn't to help the players directly, but to get the player to look at the other items in the shop, which is fine. I would love to see that here and I don't see how asking for it is off base, especially in light of R9 breathing down our necks.

Unpopular opinion: too much gear would be worse than not enough gear, because if everyone is able to max all the good teams, pvp will become boring pretty fast. Mods will become even more important that it is now, and it’s pretty important.
There is a major difficulty in balancing gear income imo: arena rewards. When some players gain 27000 crystals per month while other gain 3000 at best via both arenas, balancing the gear income is quite a challenge. Good luck CG !

In the crystal store you can purchase 50 Mk V Stun Gun salvage for 1300 crystals. You can purchase 1340 crystals for 9.99 USD in the store rn. Warranted or not I don't think CG is interested in such a bargain

I dont think they will ever change it. There were talks about the easing the gear crunch but then they added a new one (kyrotech) instead.

I now have 2 gl's and to get the prerequisites of the other 3 I already need way more than 3000 stun cuffs alone for example. And thats with me even already having geared up some of the required toons.

I just cant imagine how this must feel for people just starting

But Raid/challenge/conquest rewards are laughable. Always the stuff no one needs and you have 1000’s of. Always. Good trolling CG, Good trolling.
