How do you get airplane mode to work?

I personally don't really have a strong desire or need to use airplane mode. I was simply instructed to use it by a guild officer. But I also don't yet have a chex HSTR team or deathstorm NS or anything else that is heavily RNG dependent to set up.

Airplane mode is something that I've been hearing about for a long time and seems to me to be a common and accepted practice. Devito is the ONLY person I have ever seen suggest that it might be cheating, and indeed, the thought had never occurred to me that it might be considered cheating. It would be nice to have some official developer clarification on this, but so far, it LOOKS like the overwhelming majority of the community has no problem with airplane mode and don't consider it cheating and only a small minority (which AFAIK consists only of Devito) has a problem with it.

That having been said, since it does absolutely nothing for me, I won't be using it for the foreseeable future.

On that technical note, it looks like I'm not the only one with this issue. It appears that it is a feature of IOS 11.

And IoS 11 has been around for a while now. Having established that, I'm surprised that everyone in this game continues to say "turn on airplane mode" when basically for everyone with an iphone, which is 56% of smartphone users, airplane mode does not automatically turn off wifi.
