How to fix tournaments

Leave almost everything the same (offense/defense teams, use ally points, character refreshes, etc), but instead of final reward payout be determined by rank, have it be determined by total points collected. When you win a battle you gain points like usual, but when you lose a battle, you lose points.

I suppose this wouldn't technically be a tournament because you aren't directly competing with others for rewards, but those who invest time, ally points, and money would be rewarded with shards while those who slack off or dont make the time to play, will not get shards. I think this incorporates a good balance of skill (selecting beatable battles and winning) and game involvement (must save ally points and spend lots of time playing). In theory, anyone who's willing to put the time in could unlock new characters.

This is a simple enough change so I wouldn't be surprised if people have already suggested it, but I think its viable.
  • If you want it to actually be a tournament then I say limit the amount of squads to 3 at most and only a set amount of ally points can be used for refreshes, imo this would make it more about choosing your teams and opponents wisely to max your points. Just because someone doesn't hoard 10 billion ally points for 1 single tournament make them a slacker, some people actually use their gw tokens to build up the toons and ships they need.
