I remember when relic 10 was first released alongside relic delta. It was a huge mess and no one liked it because the feature would only benefit long term or paying players. Shortly delta recieved some sort of nerf (can't remember how or what) and haven't heard much about it since. Is relic delta even still a thing at this point? With mods omicrons and even datacrons has this mechanic just fallen off?
You get bonus damage when you attack a toon with fewer relics than you -- and they get reduced damage against you.

When the difference is 0 to 2 relic tiers, the bonus/penalty isn't noticeable and counters that worked before RD still work fine.
When the difference is 3 tiers it matters and some counters are no longer reliable, though they mostly still work.
At 4+ tiers it makes a pretty huge difference. Some counters may still work, but I wouldn't trust any counter with a +4 relic differential.
Remember this is counted on a per-toon basis, not the total or the average of all your toons vs the total or avg of all of theirs. Thus you can have an r9 toon and an r1 toon in the same squad, and when they attack an r5 enemy, your r9 toon will get massive bonuses and your r1 toon will get massive penalties.
I interpreted the question as is it even doing anything. RD has never been removed but was tweaked and diluted down. At my stage of the game I don’t think it does much as most opponents are within RD 2 plus or minus and that has such little impact that I have almost forgotten the feature exists. It has not improved TB, my conquest experience is largely unchanged. I think TW is the only mode I have felt a change but only in mismatches you would likely lose or win already. I think evidence to this is the lack of threads complaining about it, when we still get threads complaining about OP datacrons years after implementation.

When you are in a battle look at the enemy unit icon at the top right of the screen.
The green arrow with a -2 beside it is the relic delta indicator. Yes it’s still a thing, and you’ll always see when it’s in operation.
