Has to be Bail. That's the whole premise of using Leia to draw Kenobi out.

Also she already knows Anakin is LV. She wouldn't need to "find" the connection between Anakin and Kenobi.

I agree, the show spent time establishing his isolation and mundane day-to-day life.

Feels like an overreaction to be talking about plot holes already when there's still four more episodes to go. I don't think there's a chance that Grand Inquisitor is dead. They aren't going to do such a huge retcon of Rebels. It's already been established in lore that Pau'ans have two stomachs so my guess is that's the explanation for how he survives. Reva will probably claim that GI was stabbed by Kenobi, and he'll be recovering offscreen for a few episodes.

As for the Leia message, I wouldn't really call that a plot hole. Since she's going to ask Kenobi to come out of hiding to help the Rebellion fight it makes sense to reference the war he previously fought in. Stormtroopers were also actively looking for her so it's not like she had the time to record that long of a message

Yeah there is a clip on You Tube where he hears Sideous refer to Anakin as LV, so your right Obi knew Anakin is LV.

Slightly picky observation. Understandable that Kenobi is bereft after Anakin's fall but if he's on Tatoine to protect Luke then why has he let his combat skills wane? Surely that undermines his ability to offer protection.

But then he didn't have any source saying LV was dead either. The last thing he knew was "rise, Lord Vader". And if his belief had been "the time of Jedi is over", and there are few in the galaxy other than a Jedi could kill a Sith apprentice, the best he could have assumed had to be that he had no idea who's alive or dead. OTOH the shock when he heard the news was not one of "well I had hoped otherwise", but rather "I was 1000% sure he was dead!"

Obviously we as the audience know otherwise, but having your limbs cut off and then catching on fire seems pretty much like an automatic death sentence. It's not that much of a stretch for Obi-Wan to assume that Anakin died right then and there.

The question I'm more interested in is how much Bail knew about Anakin's fall. Did he know Anakin became Vader or did he just know that Anakin fell to the dark side? Because surely as an Imperial Senator he would have heard of or even crossed paths with Darth Vader, so if he knew that Anakin is Vader then he's been keeping it from Obi-Wan this whole time

Yoda couldn't beat the Emperor previously. Maybe it was just that. He was just too powerful. And if they died trying then the situation would be even worse.

I think their minds had already turned to looking out for Leia and Luke.

what would he use to practice his combat skills? He buried the lightsabers

Even if he hadn’t, it’s not like he can use it or has anywhere to use them

another thing, He also wasn’t planning on fighting again so i guess there was no point in keeping up training

So what protection could he offer?
