The grind for him is ridiculous now that guilds have moved onto ROTE and his shards are inaccessible. His shards should be added to ROTE or put onto cantina energy or equivalent so we can still farm him. 2000 tier 3 guild tokens for 5 shards is a joke.
Is it that difficult for your guild to farm him, or have they just left the whole TB behind in favour of ROTE?
If it's difficulty, join a guild who's focusing on him. If it's disinterest, join a guild who's focusing on him. If you have a good relationship with your guild, tell them you're going on hiatus to farm KAM elsewhere and then come back.
And that would still take months to farm, meanwhile i also lose tier 3 rewards for doing a lesser TB, and im in a weaker guild for TW.

There's a precedent of older TB characters—namely, ROLO and IPD—becoming available through the Galactic Bounties event.
I'm not sure KAM is old enough, but I think it's definitely time that Wat Tambor was added to Galactic Bounties. It seems to violate the game's principle of pushing for progression (or, put another way, of not incentivizing avoiding progression) to require players to play in lower-GP guilds doing less-advanced content to get these characters. Like you said, all those T3 guild tokens for 5 shards is a rip off.
Totally agree that the current mechanism to unlock KAM (and other TB unlock units) needs updated. It seems incredibly backward that the only way players in this position can unlock KAM is to blow all of the reward special to ROTE on his shards.
This is another instance of CG not thinking about the long term when introducing a new unlock method.
The unlock method is fine, they just need to adjust the price of shards. KAM isn't anywhere near as powerful as the cost to acquire him suggests. He's plenty good with oQGJ, but that team isn't even the best GR Jedi team anymore. There are a hundred little adjustments that should be made, but CG's manpower is all locked into churning out 30 characters per year now.
Depends on priorities, this is a game of choice and if you want KAM faster then do the TB. If you care more for efficiency on rewards overall to focus on other characters then slow farm KAM. I know some players which kept doing LS Geo despite lower overall rewards to get KAM because they wanted the character.
He's really not worth the effort either way nowadays . Just move on from him its not like he is a req for anything.
I never got him. Obviously, if you gave me a relic 5+ KAM, I would use him. I still use the QGJ team, to some degree. If you gave me a way to farm him............hmmmm, I don't know where I'd put him on priority and with new characters cadence being as high as it is....hmmmm.
As for him being old enough/not old enough to become a non-TB exclusive. Well he came out in November 2019 (according to Google), that's pretty old, isn't it?
I think if something made him super-meta, I'd be gutted not to have him. However, as it it, it's just a tick that isn't ticked, right now.
Doesn't make sense to skip an ROTE for a TB anymore. Jump to a guild running TB for KAM shards, and you're still losing rewards overall. It's just another way to punish non-whales
