LS vs DS gap getting worse

He's not talking about meta teams, he's talking about the sheer number of LS toons compared to the far lower number of DS toons. No need for more OP DS toons (or LS toons), just a need for more useable DS toons to flesh out the DS factions a bit more.

It's an issue with Star Wars.

There are way more notable proper noun good guys than bad guys. To get the numbers even close, they really have to stretch.

How many dark side toons are part of the Solo release? We don't know yet because we're still in the Solo release. At least let it happen before you bitch about it.

But this was a movie without a primary antagonist. The only good proper noun candidate is Vos, while there are nine good, strong, named heroes to choose from (though I sincerely doubt we're getting Val and Rio).

We're probably going to end up with seven light side characters, as there's probably going to be Beckett. And every single light side character from Solo is a prominent and important part of the cast. To make the release remotely equal would require serious stretch units, like Spoiler Cameo or Therm Scissorpunch, or a flood of generics. Yeah, there's generic material to draw on, but that ain't something to overdo.

When they're served a movie like this, you really can't blame CG for a light side/dark side imbalance in the release. But we don't even know what imbalance there is, if any, because we're still in the middle of the Solo release.

As far as a business plan goes, makes sense doesnt it.

The significant issue comes with DS TB, when you have to fill platoons and have far less options to fill those from when it comes to your roster. "Hey, fill these 6 platoons and then do these 4 missions!" That is fairly easy for LS TB side compared to DS TB because there are so many more LS toons. People can sacrifice much easier.

At the same time, I kind of roll my eyes at the "named character" thing because while yes, named characters are a big deal in Star Wars, there aren't only named characters in SWGOH. You also see named characters as NPCs that we can't play (i.e., Emno) that they could release for us to use to build the DS toon count.

More importantly, there are dozens of "named" dark side characters in Star Wars lore and since SWGOH is considered "legends" they could bring any/all of those characters to the game for us to employ. (i.e., Exar Kun, Plagueis, Bane, Malgus, etc etc etc.)

I just want to see more balanced releases. What’s so wrong with releasing two of both

Or we can blame them for the imbalance and all it takes is one look at wookieepedia and the eras they DO draw characters from to see all kinds of named DS. Even Bh rework was meh. One new toon that was a maraquee and a few reworks and even two existing BHs who weren’t even touched. It’s not hard at all to keep a balance in this sci-fi universe.

They do good with some stuff. Treya is awesome, and I like TW and TBs a lot.l and HSTR is awesome. Fleet seems even more cookie cutter than it was before so although there is a recipe for potential it initially ended up, at least on my shard, to be the exact thing they said they were trying to avoid. This is feedback. I don’t care if you agree or disagree. Chill

Then tell me. What list of units would you choose to release to make a balanced light side dark side lineup from Solo? From The Last Jedi?

Smoke, Hux, Canadae, BB9-E, Dryden Vos. They also could have expanded on more than just Bossk for BHs to help close the gap with Embo, Aurra Sing, Zuckass, 4Lom, and they could have done IG88s ship. Zam and Cad didn’t even get a rework or even a single added ability. They added one character and 5 BHs got that added contract ability. That doesn’t feel like they were very excited for that.

@DEATHCOYOTE are you saying you want it to be a 1 to 1 ratio of LS to DS? That will not and should not ever happen. They've done a great job at bringing DS into a similar strength as LS, but Star Wars is about the heroes, not the villians. By name, there's probably 3-4 (or 10??) times more unique LS characters than DS.

It makes no sense to have a 1 to 1 ratio. Then we'd just end up missing out on a bunch of fun unique LS toons, while have a bunch of obscure DS toons that no one cares about just for the sake of ratio. Makes no sense.

Why are they heroes? Because they all hold hands an just sit around playing scrabble? Or is it the Villains that they face? Can’t have one without the other and the Inferno Squad books show a perspective that all the goody goody goofballs fail to acknowledge. Vader was considered a hero of the empire. Inferno squad were heroes to the empire. They could add them and help balance it but if the BH update is any indication, I’m pretty sure they won’t. Another missed opportunity.
