Why would anyone think the player base needed additional ways to make infrequent battles more difficult to predict. Nobody, simply milking whales. This isn't new content and makes nothing more fun in the game. Adding new player tiers etc. makes battles less predictable, we have no sandbox mode, it needlessly creates a player arms race without any fun enhancements, and it surely doesn't address the rampant cheating in the game. I'm shocked there isn't a class action lawsuite against cg for not addressing cheating or reports of cheating.
