I looked at the swgoh.gg mechanics and it looks like this really is a simple bug fix. There are 6 bounty hunter leaders that should function with a marker that is set at the start of the turn and expires at the end of the round (i.e. doesn't change mid turn): Aurra, Boba, Bossk, Dengar, Greedo, and IG-88. The other leaders should count toward the contract regardless of when a debuff / thermal detonator / damage occurs: Cad, Embo, Jango, and Zam. You can see my notes below.
Disclaimer: there very well could be (and probably is) a mistake or two in translation of the mechanics. Feel free to pick through and correct them.
If all of that’s true, then IG-88 is also bugged because his functions like Jango’s (Boba multihit basic, first hit debuffs, second hit crits = counts towards contract).
For Bossk - Would those mechanics not have been updated already based on the game change though? Was it always reading like that prior to the change too?"Firebrigade;c-1699576" wrote:

Unfortunately I don't have a snapshot from pre-change. I would lean toward the mechanics always reading like that simply because for the 5 non-Bossk characters that set markers it's consistent. It's possible, however, that pre-change the mechanics read like a combo of the two (and maybe that was the bug) - set a marker and then skip the Effect Expires setting/check. This would let it move freely.
As for IG-88 - I don't have enough experience with him as a leader to comment. May be a bug... may be I am misreading his mechanics. You're right, the leader ability certainly reads like it would work more like Cad, Embo, Jango, and Zam."jhbuchholz;c-1699582" wrote:

You are reading current skill descriptions...that tells us what? Why are people condoning CG changing toon mechanics for no reason?
If they changed Revans Direct focus to say, "call one jedi ally to assist" would that be ok. Because that would be no different from what they have done to Bossk. They are setting a dangerous precedent here."Entus;c-1699589" wrote:

Did they change the skill description? If so, what was it before? I've pulled the data from swgoh.gg for you. If we had the previous description it wouldn't be too difficult to tell which of the two payout tracking methods it should use.
If they didn't change the description then it seems like it should fit in with those that use markers (Aurra, Boba, Dengar, etc.)."jhbuchholz;c-1699606" wrote:

The in-game description hasnt changed. The description still describes what should happen in game. You are looking at his current swgoh.gg skill description which HAS changed. The in-game skill description says weakest enemy, and its been hitting the weakest enemy until their recent change. What else do we really need? If we let this slide, its saying that they can use "intent" to change any toon any time.
Like i said, how would it be different if they changed revans direct focus to call one jedi instead of all of them and saying"thats what we intended all along"."Entus;c-1699616" wrote:

It would be different because they'd have to change the wording of the skill itself, which currently reads, "Call all Jedi allies to assist".
In this case, they haven't changed the wording. They've just fixed or changed the mechanics to be consistent with the other Bounty Hunter leaders that use similar mechanics. It seems like IG-88 may also be similarly 'bugged' per a comment above. How do the other Bounty Hunter leaders that use this mechanic work? Do Aurra, Boba, Dengar, and Greedo allow the marker to move mid-turn? If they all do and only Bossk doesn't then you have a very strong argument. If none of them do then the question you posed in the OP is answered: no other Bounty Hunters will get nerfed for having same requirements as Bossk."jhbuchholz;c-1699628" wrote:

But now the description is wrong. It doesnt say start of turn, which it should of its a start of turn mechanic. Why would bossk be the exception to this global rule?"jhbuchholz;c-1699628" wrote:
