Why should anyone assume that the rewards would look differently? Easily could be interperreted as double chance for drops, or that you'd just get 2x rewards and they'd show the same in preview.

My newsletter says '...there will be double drops' rather than 'there are double drops'.
Don't get me wrong, I hope they do something for you as it's obviously not WAI.
The whole message is still bundled with the launch of the new Phoenix packs which are live. I could 100% expect players to assume the double event is active after reading the newsletter popup. It's poor timing and wording getting the message out (something CG isn't unfamiliar with)
