Opinion: should full synergy teams of less important tags ever be viable?

certain factions were never really empire-size power in the star wars universe. obviously rebels, resistance, sith, FO, jedi, and the empire are viable in arena as full synergy from their impact on the star wars universe. do you think other teams should ever be reworked and become viable in arena in tags of:
Nightsister
Droid (pure droid, not poe/jawa mixes)
geonosian
ewok
jawa
bounty hunter (although you can argue they are viable as a whole team, but icons such as boba fett are obviously going to be viable)
tuskens
etc

  • We will see the current system of buff/zeta/rework make its rounds to "all" factions (I think). So they will all end up with a "vaible" team but there always 1 piece that seems to have a better/ just as good fit that gets in there.

Boba, jka, kylo, b2, rex, GK... and others are semi universal toons

    Situationally :
    sid in resistance
    Shore as your pre taunt
    Palp for dps
Rey for dps (back in the day)

Not saying can't happen but people will go with the toon they have modded and geared over synergy most of the time.
  • Issue if they rework night sisters or tuskens: it only profit the new players or whales as almost nobody has them Arena ready. Something at the level of Princess Zody could motivate players to farm outside their usual faction.

That sounds like an issue for veteran f2p, but not an issue for the wallets of CG.
I personally (as you may know @Neo2551 ) farm based on who i like in the game, such as FO or Jawa. so it will also benefit people who have loyalty to a lesser played faction
  • @Khorvog_Karbossa I respect how you farm your roste. I support a rework of jawas as they are in this tipping point where people can heavily invest in them as most have already 2/3 maxed jawas.

I was just implying that rework should in a way increase sales from gear so, commercially, Devs should rework factions where players have some sunk costs so they don't feel like they are missing something.

Issue with Nightsisters and Tuskens is they are not popular at all (except for Ventress), hence not many will satisfied about Devs works.

Even if Jedi have a lot of characters (some seriously borderline OP), they still can't hold on defense (mostly because they miss a glass canon).
  • They don't need unbeatable synergy but cool and unique mechanics are a plus. Every character takes the same materials so they should at least be competent against others on offense

I think it's important, when we have these kinds of discussions, that it's important to remember that SW:GOH is not a simulation (and thus can, but doesn't have to, reflect the Star Wars universe completely accurately).

That said, since we are playing a holotable game - again, not a simulation - yes. I think it would be fun to have many factions to choose from. Diversity in arena makes for a fun experience. It also gives people the opportunity to play their "favorites" - or even just try something different.

For example, I had no idea who the Nighsisters were (other than Ventress) before this game. I would love to have acolyte reworked and be able to put a viable NS team in arena. I ran Daka for a long time in arena early on and think Ventress' rework brings her almost there. Initiate could use a tweak. Honestly, I think a fully geared and leveled Talia is much closer to arena viability than some think too. They do have some good synergies, and I'd love to try to work them together - they haven't even had an event yet though! :'(

But yes, since it's a game and no a simulation, I think it would be good to have even "lesser" factions have viable arena teams.

Talia is too slow to be arena viable lol

She wasn't bad back in the days of phasma led teams?
