I think in some EU they are referred to as red guard also.
Anyways at least you could play around a royal guard, snipe a char from 60% inflict buff immunity before someone drops. Auto taunters on the other hand have no play around strategy. Either you get a dispeller to go before all your other characters (other than qui gon in a qui gon led team, good luck) or you are stuck wasting 2-4 turns before you could single attack any meaningful character. That's it, no play around, no strategy, no RNG, just throw in the toon and make the let him take all the damage
