When they have used up the pool of people willing to spend $1000+ on him, I'd imagine he'll come back in some form.
Having "Rexes and "Rex nots" really imbalances the raid though. He can do it all in there.
I think from just the couple responses I've seen here and in the other thread that EA is "leaving money on the table." There are folks willing to spend money on the game, just not via Chromium packs. EA tapping into that player segment is likely a source of incremental revenue for them in that those players are now spending money on these specific character packs as well as crystals.
