Raid System Reform is Not An Option it is a Necessity!

The current Raid system don't create a good customer experience.

The Customer Experience

Dead Teams - It is awful, I would love to spend money to grind out the raids but the life span of the teams makes it hard to justify. The Gungans are officially dead now. There is literally zero incentive to farm them outside of the really late stage of end game. I see the same thing with the Bad Batch and they are awful for the raid they should be good in. 3/10

Forcing What Community I interact With- If i did go all out on new characters that only have raid ROI, My guild and community of players may not do it so u I must leave and find a different guild to get the ROi. Thats an awful requirement, I very much enjoy the people I play with and our income differences shouldn't determine who I MUST play with. Its implying the rich play with the rich and the poor play with the poor. (I understand that how someone spends their money isn't a sign of their wealth, but let me cook). 0/10

The Raid Life Span - As long as Biker exist, there are only two options. The Feature raid or Biker. This is an awful value as a consumer. What are the numbers on the people still doing Naboo? 3/10

The Cost - The most recent cost barrier for the raid is pretty wild. No FTP player will be able to use the full squads of pirates before the raid ends. They won't get the GL. They might have a up and running Bad Batch. They MIGHT get a Mace team but for only the last month or 2 of the raid. So why would they prioritize these characters knowing that a majority of the team are useless in one year. 0/10

Rewards- Unfulfilling.  4/10

Suggestions

1) Create a New Two Category Raid system. I will call them, Raids of Legends and Raids of Tales.

Raids of Legends - Are raids designed around major and iconic events. For Example, a Death star raid would be a Raid of Legend.  Include the legacy raids in this category as well.  You will always have access to these Raids. The rewards for these raids will be primarily driven by character shards. However, The resource rewards should be tweek a bit but not more than Raid of tales. Order 66 should have been a Raid in this category.

Raids of Tales - Are raids designed around minor but popular events. All of the new raids except Order 66 are great examples of this. Every Week or Month, There will only be 2 options offered. The Features Raid and a rotating schedule of Previous Raids. The Previous Raids will offer MK3 Currency but less than the feature raid. This is will help fix the awful consumer experience of purchasing or grinding for a "dead squad" or a squad that has a one year life span.

You can choose which raid you style you want and they cost the same currency to run. Your guild will now have to some level of meaningful thought to choose which raids to do instead of being forced to make a braindead predetermined "smart" decision because currently doing anything else feels awful. Sacrificing "Fun" for "Optimal" is only a choice when the fun route isn't 20% of the Optimal choice. Choosing things for fun doesn't feel good in this game.

Add one of each type of raid a year.

If you keep the current system, Suggestions :

1) Rewards - Mix it up....What if non featured raids had specialized rewards. For example there would be One for Guild Store, One for High Gear Resources, One for Relic Resources, One for Ability Resources. The Guild Store being the most flexible will have less value than the rest but Now a guild can decide on what they want their focus to be for that raid and create more diversity in their game play.

2) Allow more characters, instead of tying all the points to the completion. Why not give bonus completion points if you use x teams? The Max score couldn't be achieved unless you have the featured teams. However, if a guild has none of these teams and can complete a good amount of Tier 4-5+ attempts with the off meta teams, they should be able to reach Crate 1 or 2. If you need to increase the MK3 Currency rewards after those crates to encourage spending, that would still be a better experience. It would be a great customer experience if FTP players or players without the current feature squads could get 200-300 MK3 a raid.

TLDR: The cost of participating in feature raids is a bad experience. There are extremely high real money cost for temporary ROI along with being forced out if your community to join a different community doing feature raids are both terrible experiences for customers. Thanks for reading

  • +1.  If we remove the rewards factor.  Raids are an absolutely awful experience right now.  What's more with every new raid, we're sort of reset on what we can obtain.  Maybe, give something extra for a a month or so for a new raid, then give the guild the opportunity to choose which raid they want to do to obtain Mk 3.

  • A raid reward toon like Han Solo would be an incentive but it’s clear the raid model now is latest toons and squads are the only thing relevant in that game mode no matter how inaccurate the new squad is for the raids theme.
at least CG listened to the criticism of how long raid attempts took and the amount of RNG even at the top tier with maxed toons was unsatisfactory and took actions to make faster runs and more predictable results. My only complaint is not providing 40% of the planned squads on day one meaning guilds that received top rewards last raid version now are losing rewards for weeks or months. Thank goodness, CG does not try to innovate with the proposed available toons much and we have a player base that does then shares. Tarkin and Scorch getting top score in a few minutes will hold me over until a full pirate squad is farmable.

They are already monitoring Tarkin undermanned for nerfs. That's going to hurt.

Seriously, its a game mode that is universally linked to level of thinking. It is a completely brain dead mode right now. Calling them raids is a joke itself lol
