I wasn't necessarily defending relic delta (although I've taken the stance of being in favor of it out of sheer petty contrarianism 😆). I was trying to show that we needn't despair. Yes, RD is gonna require higher relics across the board to be competitive. However, those higher relics are now much more accessible.
I think that a year from now, it's quite possible that we'll have settled into a new equilibrium where mid and endgame players just bring every new character to R7 minimum, simply because they will have the relic materials to spare, so there won't be any point in stopping at R5.

Marvel Strike Force lost 100,000 players when they introduced their version of Relic Delta. Furthermore death isn't typically instantaneous but rather a progression. The game has been in decline for years and there's a multitude of grave issues around this which is crashing community morale and pushing players away. For a game struggling to attract new players this doesn't bode well and will likely accelerate the downward trend unless addressed in a real and meaningful way.
The sharp change in monetization strikes me as a move of desperation by CG and that doesn't bode well.I will be curious to see if SWGOH loses a significant number of players over this.

I've just decided to stop playing TW and GA - unplayable - I just lose SLKR R8 vs R9, come on, they lie (again) with the official 10%).
The colliseum is boring : 5 manual fights every day, for what ? 1 R10 every 128 days if you do not buy pack with cristals ? no thanks - I lose incomming cristal from the GA, so I will not add cristal for something else.
I'll watch the next conquest and then I'm done.
That will have been exactly 10 years.
