Removal of Ally Points making war practically irrelevant

Hey all this is my first post so I apologize if it's in the wrong place but I personally feel (as do all of the players I know that play this) that removing ally points from gw makes it much less appeasing to attempt. The majority of the character rewards are so-so and can all my taken to 7 stars quickly. I have encouraged all new players and myself splurge the ally points on bronzium cards as a fun reward at the end of a grueling and fun challenge and this has helped many people catch up to players further along than them. The new updates will remove the ally point reward option and quite frankly take half the fun out of war. The reason we stopped participating in tournaments is because it stopped being fun, I see that happening with war too, especially for veterans who have no interest in the gw weenie prizes. If I'm wrong feel free to disageee but I really enjoyed spending 18k on cards at the end of the day. It's like buying a box of tcg cards and cracking em open, even if I didn't something good the fun was in opening them and getting a character was a huge surge of endorphins. I'm dissapointed dev team. What is the point of limiting our options??

  • Ok, let's not resort to hyperbole.

GW is not worthless without AP, nor was it before AP was even introduced as a buyable option. Ships are still there, and even if you aren't interested in that you can exchange for Shard Shop currency.

There's plenty of reason to be upset about this, but we can do so with logic.
  • I did say practically didn't I?? I understand it's not completely worthless. But I'm fairly certain I used a clarifier. If I didn't, I apologize. Understandably the internet allows for overreactions. But also, in past experiences I've found that if you don't act 'unreasonably' upset you aren't graced with a response.
  • I get that. I think it depends on who's "on duty" and their mood. I've received responses either way...but almost every time I act "unreasonably", I get to get my post deleted.

That also however, depends on who is "on duty"...I posted completely reasonably in General Discussion and received a healthy discussion deletion, hence the entire reason I'm over here at all...in no man's land, lol.
  • I want to agree that removing ally points from galactic was very unfortunate. I am a regular player and my daughter and I play this game every day. Her favorite part of this is spinning the wheel on bronzonium cards using ally points. I can understand taking them away from daily awards, but please bring them back as an option for spending GW green tickets. She's very sad!
  • I've played around a month and now one of the most fun and free things gets taken away in hopes that more people pay for characters and crystals instead. This will be an extremely bad thing for new people, which might turn many people off losing more money in the long term because of the pure grindiness the game just became making it feel like work instead of a game, yes it was grindy before but now it's 100% grind for gear and for character shards when before at least we had a decent chance of getting things even though you are relatively new, making one feel they can progress at an OK pace.
  • wished they would bring ally points back I enjoyed the shards I could trade in thru them for raid gear..I had a good amount of gear I got through them daily. now I'm lucky to get 1200 after farming and refreshing. we shouldn't be punished for a few people who cheated. I read the post they put up but that still doesn't help those who are mid game and need gear through the points because energy is spent either on gear or shards and ally points was a alternative to energy spending saved some hassle. @CG_TopHat
  • I too used ally points as a good, fun source of training droids, credits, shards, and the occasional suprise character. The F2P users will definately walk without an incentive like this. Time is more of an expense than money for most of us that find games to be enjoyable without draining our wallets.
