Remove relic requirements for the awful Legendary Events.

Mace Windu is up. Hooray for more bs gameplay…

Have the developers ever explained why they make the Legendary Events so awful to play? Jar Jar—horrible. Bo-Katan—bad. Grand Inquisitor—really bad. Dr. Aphra—had me ready to delete the game.

So if RNG garbage is the theme of Legendary Events, why impose relic requirements at all? Remove this from the game mode if the event isn’t based on skill, gear, or mods, but instead on a lucky number roll.

  • I think if we approach this complaint from a different angle:

"Who actually enjoyed 'the puzzle' of the events the OP listed?  Who liked them so much that they'd go back and replay them?"

A definite 'no' on both counts for me.  I know I absolutely despised and stressed about them.  The elation came with knowing I'd never have to do any of those wretched, phone smashing things ever again.  I have to finish my Maul tomorrow...not something I'm looking forward to at all.

So, if we play games as an avenue of fun/relaxation, are these events really a positive advertisement for the game?  I mean now and again I might revisit a Revan, Star Killer or CLS battle for feats or to have a looksy.  However, the 4 events the OP listed; I have no will to and hope not to ever have to do them again.

Back in the day legendary event requirements were 7 stars and that was it. CLS for example I unlocked him with 7 star G8 toons. It took many hours but I didn’t go broke buying anything. But with GL’s $$CG$$ ramped up the money grab  Big time.

Oh for sure, but it is an RNG time trap, not a gear issue. Even over geared, fully zeta’d, god-mod teams failed despite following the YouTube guides. So why force a relic level when one will have to restart several times anyway.

Besides, some people evidently like to waste their life playing RNG luck, (like this “prettyflyquiguy” troll). Let them enjoy the game that way, while the rest of us can choose to do 20 resets on R4 toons, or 2 resets on R9 toons.

This is the real solution. I’d add Jabba’s sail barge T5 to that list. That is a great replay.

I would argue that not all people play games for fun and relaxation. Some like competition, some like challenges, some like difficult puzzles. Some like the reward of perseverance and accomplishment.

Anyways, I just unlocked JML, and thought that Journey was "enjoyable". But I have no reason to think I'd ever play it again.

The GL journeys are infinitely better than the ones that the OP mentioned.  That said, I did JML back when you didn't get GL currency refunded and had no place to buy the currencies either; you had to earn them.  I remember waking up one morning and shouting at the other mices, "Finally, today's the day I get him!"  He was my second GL and a big thing.  Well, I failed...I lost my tickets and had to farm them again over the next couple of days.  I felt so close to deleting the game...

I would say there are some benefits though.  The main one being that these hard events point out how modding is vitally important.  A lot of players breeze through the game without thinking much about their modding and then come unstuck.  These events highlight modding weaknesses and show players they need to take the mod aspect of the game a lot more seriously.

Oh and PS:  That Maul journey was horrible
