Nonsense. In such an environment, one where an application exists in 2 app stores and also a PC App it is delayed by the app stores alone (particularly the Apple one). You also seem to miss the fact that this "simple task" will put pressure on the infrastructure that host the game, and that consideration has to be made that potentially every single player at once may request this sort. Yes, its unlikely but it still has to be considered and load tested.

Nice that you googled some terms but its much more complex than your quite frankly simplistic and laughably ignorant idea as to how mobile app development and publishing works (or in fact any kind of software development).

First off, maybe take a moment to actually read: when I wrote “before being released,” I was clearly referring to internal deployment before the app is pushed to the stores, where updates are typically published in batches anyway.

Since you brought up the "infrastructure", you might want to pick a lane: does the query run client-side or server-side? Because it’s one or the other, not both. If it’s client-side, your infrastructure concerns are irrelevant. If it’s server-side, then the app store approval process has almost nothing to do with it.

And finally, if the backend can’t handle a change on an "ORDER BY" clause of an existing query, then there are far bigger problems than a sort adjustment.

Disagreement is fine. Dismissing someone else opinion with arrogance without knowing how actually the thing works? That’s just lazy.
