Returning player in a new coat of paint

Greetings everyone!

I frequented the old forums last year when I played. I really enjoyed it but I made a total mess of my save, to the point I couldn't catch up with everyone else despite playing daily, so I decided to start from scratch. Currently tryin to make sense of these new forums :p I can't find exactly what I am looking for, hence the reason why I decided to make this thread.

Secondly, I was wondering if anyone has advice for very concrete up-to-date beginner farming guides. I have seen a few videos but they weren't that specific. To avoid what I did last time I am trying to work out a more concrete farming plan this time.
