The only thing that is odd for me is, why would someone would not participate so his/her guild could win? This does not make sense....
Okay, but just stating you have proof is precisely not proof, in itself. You may have the proof, but if you don't share it, what good is it?
In the end though, there will always be a mismatch to some degree. A 100% equal "fair" fight does not exist, never has, never will, in any competition. One side will always have an advantage, but that does not always decide the winner.
