The white troopers do have beskar in their armour, that's why the mando's started focusing on the gaps.

I think Moff Gideon is cloning himself, so when he says, "I needed to put something more into the armor....Me!" he meant it.

Add to that, he wants his clones to have force abilities, which is why he needed Grogu, so his clones will have force abilities.

But I could be wrong.

I doubt that he will manage that, even Palpatine himself had trouble getting a cloned Force sensitive body.

I think the "Me" part locked it in for me, sometimes I am right. lol
