The 1 damage or the change of the Tier and getting totally trashed in 2 turns is the message that CG wants to deliver.

PAY and suffer, or NOT PAY AND SUFFER MOAR!

 

Well done, the community is clueless of what is going on and they do not bother to explain what it's their master plan.
