There just isn't any fun in this game anymore....

Its just one farm after another farm and then gear farm after gear farm. Man this is disheartening the pace of character releases without any new or enjoyable replay content. I am trying to be excited about these new characters but can't help to think how many kyros and guns and carbs are going to be required.

What is mind boggling is that the cost to enjoy their new 'content' within a reasonable amount of time is at least $1,000. When did this become the norm? How and why as a player base do we consider this acceptable? This is just maddening.

I feel bad for this generation of gamers. It's sad that gaming has come to this. You don't deserve this. It's going to take a company with true creativity and vision to break the shackles. They've all lost sight of what's important. We need a Richard Garriott of mobile games to emerge.

All I can say is vote with your time and money. It's the only metrics that matter anymore.

I'm not saying change shouldnt happen, but what caliber of games could you play for free back in the day, without pirating it?

None. The whole "free + microtransactions" concept for games is what is ruining gaming.

I'm pretty sure the millions of players who play free games would disagree about ruining gaming, but I know some people really dont like monetization of gaming in any "real fashion". To some extent it is a necessity, a lot of games out there require constant attention and updates to deal with many aspects of the game, so there is much less of a fixed cost model for developers.
