To Hord or Not To Hord

If you want to stay on top of the meta hoarding is the way to go. However I think it’s more of an issue these days.
In the last few months we have had to spend heavily on separatists and dark side toons for geotb, then GR with padme/shaak/GAS. Now we don’t fully know what the full requirements for new TB will be or I don’t seem to recall details being released for FO themed GA that starts next week i think.
So I haven’t upgraded a toon for what feels like an age now (especially since I didn’t hoard enough to get GAS) just sitting waiting around waiting for details on GA or TB or something so I can invest wisely and get most out of my gear.
But the whole point of the game was gearing up squads and having an linear progression feel to it but that changed for me especially with gear crunch being worse than ever since kyros and g13.

What's funny is in the beginning of SWGOH everyone was complaining about not having enough omegas hard to get now I have over 2000 of them.
I'm not hording I just simply used them on every character so far
Over time you will eventually build a cash of everything with the exception of Zetas
I need like 2000 of those now lol

There are a lot of threads here with people arguing about the omega crunch vs the zeta crunch.

Kind of surprising we haven't had one a little while.

Ive been playing aince 6 months in, so i can say with certainty that it is not possible to omega every ability and have over 2000 spares... i call BS!

I found hoarding incredibly boring and that's not the reason I download d the game.

I would say if you're trying to level up a toon that requires get or get2, hold onto the tokens at least until you can bring them to the next star level, if not 7*. There's no advantage in having a 5* malak with 45/85 shards. You can just hold onto the get until you can upgrade him, just in case your priorities change.

Worse case it might take an extra day or two to promote them when the time comes since you have to wait for the store to refresh.

Say they rework the rest of the Galactic Republic Clone Wars toons before they 'close off the clone wars' content. If you haven't hoarded, you will have to start collecting gear for all those currently useless Jedi (and there are a lot of them). It will take months. If you hoarded, it's all gravy.

I think it depends where you are in the game too. What would be really helpful is understanding what boxes you need to check before hoarding becomes a legitimately profitable activity.

I'm personally hoarding GET2 because it is sooooo slow to acquire, and unlocking something to me early isn't worth the risk of spending in an area that falls out. once I have enough GET2 to 7* something, then I will dump it all, if I feel it is warranted at that point in time.

Other currencies though I'm not hoarding at all because I'm still so new in the game.
