Tournament Cheats

So it has become very apparent that the number of cheaters in tournaments especially in the Euro zones has dramatically increased. This is to the point that many shards have their top rewards compromised. People who are playing legit and spending a lot of time to get these rewards are severely impacted.

Postemptive bans clearly do not work since no one gets reimbursed for placements they would have otherwise received.

This is an issue of the highest order. If fair play cannot be guaranteed in such a reward structure please do away with it. The recent complaints about the android advantage are very real in this situation.

  • Something needs to be done about this, in the last Jyn raid there was a guy who finished 2nd on my shard that had only a handful of gear 10 toons.

  • I figure at this point I've lost one star on chirrut and two stars in Jyn because of tournament cheating. I've reported the guy holding one on my shard for cassian and he will cost me another star. All of this translates to real world dollars, it cost me over one hundred in the rogue one pack to make up the missing star on chirrut and it will cost more for Jyn and cassian which I guess is good for ea bottom line, again in the short term. Not that I'm saying they condone the cheating, I know they are trying to deal with it, but they continue this broken introduction system anyway...

  • Agree with everyone above, this is a very big issue in this game. Cheats in the tournaments, cheats in arena.. the list goes on
  • 100% agree. The cheats gave to be stopped, it is rampant right now, and I know my community feels CG isn't doing enough to stop it. This is making many of my big spenders hesitate to invest as they have in the past.
  • Not more to be said beyond what has already been well-stated above. It devalues both the time and financial investment put forth by all walks of player, and undermines the integrity of the game and the spirit of competition and achievement it is striving to promote. Anecdotally, within my community, I know several folks are deeply disheartened that the new mechanism for the introduction and procurement of new characters is this "broken" for want of a better word. Consequently, players are disengaging from the game.

I genuinely feel that new content can wait until this is resolved. Ultimately, the new content will only serve to anger and frustrate those playing the game fairly unless the cheating is significantly curbed.
  • Increasing the character requirements based on bracket can help offset some of this. Make the top lvl 85 bracket require lvl 80 characters, gear 8 or 9 and 3 stars. No one playing legitimately uses anything lower than that. The reason so many hackers seem to climb indefinitely is because they are rotating through teams of trash g6 characters.

  • Its out of hand but what is worse is the lack of any public relations outreach.... its terrible. At least communicate with your clients to tell them its being worked on. A very loud and communicative response is not only warranted but required in situations such as these. Clients, I.E. me and others, are losing heart.
