Tournament (wishlist)

Ok i know almost everyone hated the tournaments (and i wasnt the biggest fan). But what i did enjoy was having the chance to use more of my roster. I just wanted to share how I would like to see it let me know your thoughts
1) make it a tier system instead of the actual competitiveness of an actual tournament. Get to X number of points get x number of shards. no being bumped back once your there you are there. This way no one feels robbed of their time by getting snipped in the last 5-10 min and you know what you get for your time investment.

2) Dont let players set defense. For getting to the last tier take the top 5 or so teams from pvp from all shards and make those who peole face and do the same for earlier teirs but with lower pvp ranks according to tier.

3) (for business reasons) have the tournament allow people who make ot to the final tier get a 5* character (dont think 3-4* is worth the time). This allows EA/CG to still sell packs and not allow everyone to get the character to 7* since more than 1 per tournament shard would get them.

4) set the amount of points for top tier at the average (or slightly higher) for what it took 1 person to get 1st over the previous tournaments. This still keeps people (and potentially more) playing the game just as long as previous tournaments but they KNOW what they are getting. if they dont want to put in 6 hrs or whatever they dont have to but if they do they KNOW they are getting a 5* at the end of it.

5) keep the refresh system relatively the same.

While this may not prevent the cheating that was occurring but those cheaters wont be directly impacting the experience of everyone else playing far and gives EA/CG time to spot and punsh them during or even after the event.

Let me know thoughts I just miss having a reason to use my deeper roster.

  • What you're proposing is basically a larger-scale GW. I do like it though.
  • @UltimateZeus basically but having to refresh. The biggest issue i think most people had was not knowing what they would end up with for the time. Im not a fan of the new system because i still hardly use anyone and i can get though gw with one team :-/
  • Well, definitely better than the previous system. Still, I think the way they released Krennic and Death Trooper is better. Citadel Pack aside, they actually listen to the community in that matter.
    But yeah, I'd like to see this "Larger Scale GW" every now and then. It would keep the game fresh and we would have an useful way to spend Ally points.
  • I say make it an actual tournament...

    Each player gets to use 1 or 2 teams max, set amount of ally points for refreshes, double elimination, lose 2 battles and you're out.

    The first few battles would start around the power of your team and scale up the more you win, and keep the point system similar to how it is, points awarded for enemy kills and for allies left standing.

    Imo this would make it more like an actual tournament and make it fair to everyone not just the whales with 5 or more viable teams and it keeps people from hoarding ally points for infinity refreshes on all those teams.
  • I say it only needs 2 changes, not considering the reward system.

    1) Allow us to attack absolutely anyone in our tournament. Attacking a low power team should earn significantly less rewards. A 20k power team should give about 1/10 of the points as a 50k power team. This way I can use the bottom of my roster and have fun and earn points with them, but we still want to try to attack the best team we can.

    2) Severely cut back on refreshes. Maybe cap it at 3 or 4 per character, or just make it get EXTREMELY expensive in AP very fast. Since we would be able to use our entire roster, we can't be using each character 10 times or we will have to play for 8 hours a day. If you cap it at 3 a team with every character would be able to do about 60 battles at most. That's still a lot of time there, but as an absolute cap I don't think it's horrible.
