Wasn't an autodeploy fix for GA already in place? Facing an opponent with ZERO defense on P3

I'm in the third round of the current GA and I have won 1 battle, so I'm facing an opponent that already won 1 battle too, I entered the GA and I got no defense set


Wasn't this supposed to be avoided, either by deploying in auto per PG or deploying your last defense from previous phases?
