Oh really? They literally COULDN'T alleviate the gear crunch of older gear up to g12 without adding new bottlenecks at the sub relic levels? Who was holding a gun to their head? REMEMBER and repeat after me!!
Kyros are there to *help* the gear bottleneck. They're helping, not creating a new bottleneck..
Kyros have massively helped the bottlenecks that were.
I don't think CG ever claimed they wouldn't be a new bottleneck, seems pretty obvious that Kyros got designed to be the new bottleneck, slowing down gearing of new toons which allowed CG to make older core gear more plentiful, thus alleviating the old bottleneck.
And as for the topic, my bottleneck is signal data, far more so than any other single item.
In second place comes right hand G13 gear alongside relic salvage stuff.
Kyros are in 3rd place for me.
I suspect your bottleneck is hugely dependent on where you are in the game. Going for high relic I think signal data will mostly be the bottleneck.
Except the old bottlenecks weren't eased until they added new sources of the old core gear, such as to challenges. Gear changes phase 1-2 and all of that. Mon Mothma, as an example, not only required hundreds of kyrotech, but also several stun guns as well.
My point is that without the introduction of Kyro, CG couldn’t have done what they have to alleviate the old bottlenecks.
I completely agree that right after implementation it more felt like they doubled down on bottlenecks, but the separation of the “old” bottleneck from the new have allowed them to make old bottleneck gear very plentiful over time.
What would you suggest they do?.... Give everyone free g13 when you get a character 7 stars?.....
