The answer is yes.

As long as you get STH AT 5* you should be able to unlock him at least.

K-2SO is good enough for 5* level of the event. But why wouldn't STH be 5*? The event is running a week, you can farm 10 shards per day in Arena, so 65 shards shouldn't be a problem at all.

K-2SO is good enough for 5* level of the event. But why wouldn't STH be 5*? The event is running a week, you can farm 10 shards per day in Arena, so 65 shards shouldn't be a problem at all.

I usually only get 600 arena per day so id be just short

I've been an Empire player since the very beginning so my Rebel team at the time was garbage. I actually had to buy the Rebel bundle they released, and buy many cantina refreshes to get a team of 5* Rebels.

Since time was not on my side they were all about gear 7, since I know they had protection. When it came to mods I just threw trash mods on them, I was mostly just focusing on the set bonuses since I had no time to farm proper primaries.

If my rushed garbage team can unlock 5* EP, your structured team definitely can.

5* EP is actually fairly easy to unlock, you shouldn't have any problems. However 6* and especially 7* requires a bit more planning. So to answer your question: no, your Rebel team isn't too weak to unlock EP at 5*

Yes, this it what I did to complete STHan to 7*. 10 shards a day for 15 days, it goes fast. @Grpeephole303 you have enough time to level him up to 5*.
