Would it be ethical if?

It would be fine for us if Sith Anakin is OP as you should earn these characters, but it wouldn't make a lot of money if there isn't a panic farm, so it will never happen.

When has ethical ever factored in?

But if you don't have a chance to get Kenobi to 7 star by the time of the event, you won't panic farm padme. That's what he meant by that

Well it would be unethical to players who would have to abandon their guilds because they aren't getting 30000 raid tickets daily, which could affect the acquisition of 7 star kenobi by weeks or even months. Or maybe they can't do haat at all.

So you would break apart a huge chunk of the lower power guilds and create issues between the players who are getting along just fine.

Then these players would have to spend tons of time putting their guilds back together and finding more members or they would just break apart altogether.

It would have alot worse implications than you think

I mean I have 7 star kenobi on my one account and my other is only a couple raids away. It wouldn't affect me in any way. But it's kind of bad for the newer guilds for sure

That happened with the AAT raid when it was released. In fact, the Devs stated before the raid was released that that was exactly what they expected to happen. No reason to think their intent is different this time around.

It's also kind of weird to assume that people who haven't already left their guilds to get into HAAT guilds to get Kenobi would do so because of some other character being released - GK is one of the best characters as it is.

But there's nothing even remotely unethical about it. Unethical doesn't mean anything you don't like.

The definition of words is very important. We need to resist the tendency to redefine language even when it's done relatively innocently like in this thread. There is a huge difference between something that you think is unfair and something that is unethical. Even if something were absolutely unfair, it still may not be unethical. The idea that "not nice" = "unethical" is as seriously flawed as the idea that the world is supposed to be fair.
To answer the OP's question: Would I like it if EA did this? No. Is it unethical? Absolutely not.
