Can someone please explain to me?
Why does anakin lose all of his turn meter after an ally falls below 50% or is defeated? If it's a bonus turn shouldn't his turn meter stay the same? After he takes his bonus turn?

"Bonus" does sound a little misleading. Usually a bonus means in addition to everything else. Maybe it should read "gains 100%TM."
