https://swgoh.gg/u/adapting/So I've been working out my next farms, so far I've done Phoenix, and I'm almost done with Empire for R2D2, then will start working on CLS team once I unlock R2D2. For ship farming I'm doing Tie Advanced, FOTP, Tie Fighter, Boba, Maul (I might stop this one though) and Sun Fac (only to 5 stars) and I just started doing tie reaper. I'm wondering if its worth stop focusing on the dark side ships after I have Tarkin 5 stars and access to Zeta challenges to start working on the rebel ships.So I'd need Biggs, Phantom, Ghost, Ackbar, Wedge and then maybe Bistan or Cassian (which ever one is easier) but before I do all of those, is Chimaera better than Tarkin ? I like Tarkins IWIN button and currently around top 15 in ship arena every day.Thanks!

I’m sure a maxed Tarkin will always be able to take first with a maxed fleet. The thing is Thrawn is a better stand alone toon who most will max before Tarkin the toon making his capital ship better.Now if you have no problem maxing Tarkin the pilot, stick with his ship.

I was top 5 and could beat 90% of fleets in my arena with tarkin, 7* etc same ships with a not fully maxed 6* chimaera and I can beat 99%, and now finish top 2, so if you want a little edge, then yes, it’s worth it.In my opinion anyway

u need ds ships to get executrix for the zeta challenge.rebel ships are needed for chimaera which is one of the best capital ships as of now and yes, its better than executrix.don't give up on scimitar, its quite a game changer and synergize well with ghost. screw bistan's u wing, get cassian instead. its easier farm as well.

CHS is a good choice, since he is also required for the ROLO mission in LS TB. However, other scoundrels (veteran smugglers, bounty hunters) are also required elsewhere, so.... But yes, CHS is a good choice.

I'm on an older shard than you OP but chimera is worth it. By the end of the last event my shard went from a healthy mix of all 4 capital ships to 90% thrawn. People with non-thrawn fleets end up in the top 30 even though their crew is all g11/g12 and I am always top 15, sometimes top 5 with a primarily g9/g10 thrawn fleet. It's that big a difference

Conservation of resources is probably the biggest thing. If you're already doing a double Zeta on Thrawn and gearing him to max - then his ship is just going to be that much better. Akbar and Mace don't even have Zeta's to give them any boost in speed or stat increases on their capitol ships.

It's funny that Ships is the one place where DS shines - though of course Biggs rebel ship is almost mandatory. I can't find a top 50 without him in my arena at least.

Fwiw, do consider that going after chimera implies missing out on 2 or 3 zetas. Given you are in a young shard, i would prioritize zetas over chimera - that is at least what i have been doing with great success.

August 2017 shard, 1 in arena and 2 in fleet every day as ftp :smile:

@LordBane452501 , who do you run in arena? Sounds like you don't have Thrawn. I think eventually you may need Thrawn as your shard is on younger side. More Thrawns may force you to get ready for his legendary event, this if you don't have Thrawn...

Thrawn is g11 atm, but my g10 Tark easily outspeeds even, g12 Thrawns, and this will only improve when my Reaper is ready to rumble.

For sure i will farm for chimera in the future, now i prioritize further zetas (Veers coming up first, not sure who will be next as i already have zCLS zzR2 Zolo and zFinn)

My entire fleet top 50 has been 7* Chimaeras for about 2 weeks. I’m sure someone else has snuck in occasionally, but I haven’t seen a single other Cap in top 50, and I check a couple times a day.

A horrible team can still beat the best.

Ships is all RNG dice rolls based on target lock, ships living with 0HP, multi attacks from fotp, tfp dodge etc.
