They can be useful if they have high speed secondaries, but without that you’re giving up too much speed (30 with no secondaries) to have anything other than very niche applications.
This.
Also for the chewie event, the speed will suit you better than the crit avoidance"Kyno;c-1790395" wrote:

Just to emphasize what I said above, speed is massively overrated in that event. The characters are so fast (~300+ speed) most people including game changers that should know better spent weeks complaining about non existent TM loading on them. The only way you'll outspeed them is by having god mods most of us don't have and using a Jango leadership.
Given that they will all go first (and more often than you) you need to make sure your full team survives so protection or defense with a bossk lead or potency with a boba lead is a much better choice as primary stat focus in my opinion. Once you get Bossks taunt up he'll start taking multiple turns because of frenzy regardless of speed.
It's only my personal experience but I went from 40+ tries with speed focused arena modding to dropping all my characters speeds by between 50 and 70 points in place of protection and cleared it on second attempt with out dengar and only g9 greedo and g10 IG88 and cad bane and g12 bossk and boba.- Sith, trooper, Z, almost any tank is great with them.

I use one on Traya with +20 speed on Traya. It really helps against the constant GMY hits when facing Revan squads
That's really cool. The highest I ever got was 11 speed secondary. :'(- They are a niche choice for sure but definitely should not be underestimated. Their best use is for team comps where you can focus fire on one single char in your team (anti-Revan Traya, Droideka + R2, Nest + Qi'ra, etc.). I probably wouldn't use them in events though (even if the enemy team is crit heavy and stacked up with ridiculous speeds) as you still need the speed to keep up and losing 30 speed IS a big deal (also keep in mind that the CA arrow just gives a chance of avoiding crits, it's in no way a guaranteed immunity).

My thoughts are that in the chewie both Lando and Han have landing crit-dependent abilities that significantly up their damage. Decrease the crit, decrease the damage. Might also help with R2's cleanse."DarthSummers;c-1790379" wrote:
In rare cases they seem to be useful, but the vast majority of teams in this game don't want to sit back and be patient. They are designed to get out and take control of the battle with turn meter manipulation or debuffs. To do this you need to take more turns to get your engine moving. So speed often wins in that situation
This is just wrong. KRu, Zal, Traya and many others need a CA arrow. It’s the most underrated primary in the game.- I think they’re extremely underrated.
As stated earlier, tanks under Qi’ra do well with it, especially at 6e. L3 gets to like 95% crit avoidance and just doesn’t die.
I use them on Mission and Zalbaar under Carth, they also get to around 90%+ crit avoidance and they just simply live forever.
It’s important to note I use these teams primarily for TW defense, so I’m typically counting time-outs as successful wins. These teams also have solid health and protection regeneration, so emphasizing a truly traditional tank role and mitigating Damage seems to work well - CA mods, like Defence mods, are worthless to me.
