Few questions about droids team

Hello,
I currently have an old school G11 droids team (Je,Hk47, B2, 88,86) and I want to improve this team.
The fact is that I cant get R2 neither BB8.
How can I improve this team? Should I farm Grievous and wait for a zeta? Should I get K-2so? IG100?

What should be the G12 upgrade order?

Thank you very much.
  • Thought Droidekas would come out when Protection first dropped. They have the potential, in my head, to be an awesome droid support who could constantly help replenish prot. That or be a giant shielded tank? Think they should have capitalized on it, especially since Droids were pretty godly at the time.
  • You’re pretty much screwed without R2, he is kinda the engine of the droid team. Even still, after the first two turns you’re out of steam and the other team squishes your poor droids before they get back on the ball. So if you want to use droids in the arena, get empire for R2 and FO for bb8.
P.S. I haven’t considered Chopper in a droid squad, he might be very useful.
  • I have too many droids. I have them all minus chopper at g11 even bb8 and r2 all at 7* but I'm at a loss what to with them team wise. My GG is even near g12, any help would be great for a 5 droid team. I have experimented in GW but cannot find anything good apart from HK lead ofc.
  • So, I looked at what I'm assuming is your swgoh.gg profile, you went all in on droids and I can respect that.

Right now your top priority should be preparing for BB-8's event and second to that R2-D2's event.

BB-8 is seventeen times better than Jawa Engineer and is just worth the farm, so start farming first order right away.

R2-D2 is a great all around character that can fit in almost any squad, when (if :( ) General Grievous gets reworked you will want to have him available as an option.

All droid farming (except for when general grievous appears in the ship shop) should be put on hold until you get those two droids, and all gear and zeta materials should be getting stockpiled in anticipation for a possible rework/when you unlock bb-8 and r2.

After those two, chopper and K-2S0 can be farmed at the same time so you wouldn't have to choose between them. Chopper can be very useful in today's meta but don't farm him over First Order Officer and Stormtrooper, seriously. Same with K2, Phasma takes precedence after her then magmatrooper.

As far as g12 goes, again I say stockpile. Especially carbantis, and mk8 biotech implants. Droids eat that pumpkin like candy.

Lemme know if you have any questions ill try to get back to you

    Also, my droids btw:

one day your's will look like that to
  • R2's event is coming up this month, also K2 does have some situational advantages.

Grievous and IG-100 both need a rework to be part of the conversations all though I have them both at gear11 ready and waiting.

You definitely need to go as hard as possible on R2 and BB-8 in that order since R2 is coming back before BB-8 (just unlock them, don't worry about 7* or you might miss BB-8). For now though, you should unlock Chopper through Cantina Shipments and K-2SO through Galactic War Shipments. Take out IG-86 and replace him with one of the tanks. Then, depending on the matchup, swap between K-2SO and Chopper. Don't worry about Grievous or IG-100 (probably a long way til their rework) and they still suck at Gear 12 (trust me, I have them at Gear 12).

Once you unlock BB-8 replace him for Jawa Engineer. Once you unlock R2 replace him for K-2SO or Chopper. Your end game goal is HK, R2, 88, BB-8 and B2. G12 upgrade order should be R2, BB-8, 88, HK and then B2. 12.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!!!!! DO NOT put an omega ability on BB-8's Covert Data Transfer!!!! BB-8 doesn't have the health required to take all the shots from rebels doing 30k+ in one turn. I made the mistake of doing this before I fully realized how OP Raid Han is and now I rarely used Covert Data Transfer. In my arena, Han can EASILY do 70k damage in 1 turn, so putting a taunt on BB-8 is a death sentence even if you have him at 7* Gear 12.

Turn order should be: BB-8, R2, B2, HK, 88. Your general strategy against most teams will be to use BB-8's basic attack on their tank, then try to stun the tank with R2. If they have GK or Old Ben you'll need the tenacity down from BB-8 to get the highest chance of stunning them (you do not want either of these guys to get a turn). If they don't have a tank then use R2's Smoke Screen and put the foresight on HK (he's the least valuable character), then unload with AOE's. Then use BB-8's basic attack twice on Raid Han, Leia, or Chirrut to get daze on them (also stun them with R2). Once you stun or daze someone then try to kill them, but when its R2's turn again try to stun the next threat so they don't counter attack everyone. Then basically just repeat the process of dazing/stunning someone and focus them down (if RNG is against you and there is no one dazed/stunned then hit the tank or the lowest damage attacker). Leave CLS for last since he's high health, high tenacity and has a self cleanse (he is easier to stun when he has his unique buff). If Raid Han stuns R2 at the start or Old Ben uses his AOE on his first turn then its very hard to win, otherwise it's probably a 75% win chance. I make it to top 20 every day with this strategy and setup on an old shard against full Gear 12 CLS teams, but I only have a 5* BB-8 so I can't get him to Gear which hurts a lot.

My plan for the future is:
G12 Grievous, IG 100, B2 and upcoming separatist Droids like Droideka.

Same, I got GG to gear XII in the hopes of an OP rework
Like, there are several different rebel teams that are excessive in their abilities, so I figure the separatists will have to be able to compete, at least with nightsisters whom they obliterated

I swear if Grievous doesn't get a rework on the same level as Anakin, Boba, and Kylo did when they were first reworked I'll be EXTREMELY mad (and probably quit unless other droids are released/reworked at the same time that are really good).
