Looking at my GAC history, my opponent beat both of my fleets without my defense bringing in any reinforcements. Curious to find out how is that possible? Especially Malevolence vs Negotiator? A...

The reason why Nego can sometimes beat Nego before RI (or at least provoke Nego heal instead of AoE) is because Fives feeds TM to Vulture.
There is no Fives in the starter comp above, and Ahsoka is r4 so even if she has 5 dot mods, turnover will be Ahsoka, then JKA/Nego AoE coinflip with Vulture down. I have a hard time believing between this move, Hyena and SF duo, with 2 summoned vultures at near 0% TM take out 3 ships, one of which has Unending Loyalty, until the first RI comes in on Nego's next turn. Malevolence's initial stack of dots Buzz Droids caps at one on each ship from Hyena AoE, and then you are forced to take out Y-wing first.
It is also worth mentioning that the Tie Bomber in the second battle barely lost protection.
