Empire will take you FAR further then Sith alone, plus they have some great pilots, plus they are required for DSTB, plus they get you R2; and when your shard does unlock CLS and he appears all over your arena shard, quite a few are anti-rebel as well.
Another upside- Much like the rebels, there’s so many of them that are quite different and viable when geared, so you can swap out a character or two if you face different squads to change what it’s strengths are, or you can platoon a character or two and still be able to field a competent team.
