Improvement on Ship Stats due to upgrades in the Character(s) of its crew.

This is a long time topic, but until now, I have not found a post or place that really solves the question of how increasing gear levels, mod/slice,Zeta(s) etc. on your characters affect the stats of their ship (Speed/Protection/Health/etc). does anyone have a recommendation of where too look for this info?
