We're in a bit of a CLS-like blip right now because Revan is such a strong PvP team and there are few variations that shine (I've seen a GK-less Ezra comp that's pretty interesting, but not sure how it holds after you beat it the first time). Hoda for Bastila can also provide a little bit of variety.
This too will pass, and it won't take that long. I think CG has done a really good job over the course of the past year keeping arena fresh, with a few blips here and there - the initial Palp rework onslaught until Bastila arrived, the Traya onslaught.
The great thing about mods is that they prevent a cheese-like "high value" zeta like Bastila's leadership from becoming "too" important. I always found it a little funny that a single zeta could neuter and significantly better team (old Nightmare in this case) for a bit. 6e mods came out and alleviated that a bit, but far superior zEP teams will not hold against middling Bastila teams.
All that said, the talk of mods in Revan mirrors is highly overrated. Guess which team one this fight?
Team on the left was on defense, team on the right was offense. Defense held - I don't know how. Rematch was over in two minutes. Shrug.
