Mod farming

Just burnt through 3 refreshes of mod energy and farmed 30 mods. 3 of them were blue, 4 of them green and oh yes... 23 were grey!
Awful awful awful probabilities of getting ANYTHING good, let alone a decent speed secondary...

End rage rant.

  • With slicing, the numbers you are stating here are only half the story, at best.
  • If 3 refreshes didn’t yield you anything decent and made you mad...you wouldn’t wanna walk in my shoes.

Try doing 3 refreshes a day for 2 years/ refreshing the mod shop over 20 times a day and have your fastest circle speed set mod be the highest of 17 speed after you’ve sliced it:(((

Then watch as your arena team goes from being the fastest team on the server to becoming one of the slower ones.

    Not fun at all.

Are you familiar with how this game does probabilities? Nowhere is CG kind. Even with the x2 "bonus" thing they leave you at 0x2 on most rolls. Not a guaranteed 1/3 then x2. Or drop off of shards from the packs or whatnot. The drop off is as if you sandwiched a Gaussian graph by stepping on it under your foot right at 5 shards or whatever it is. The odds of getting 12 shards from something that gives 300 is something like 0.01% so 1/10000.

  • Don't use energy refreshes on mod farming, unless you want to waste crystals. All my good mods have either come from the mod shop or events. All my mod energy goes towards slicing mats. The chance of getting a useful mod from farming the nodes is so low that it's an absolute waste. I haven't farmed a mod from those nodes in almost 2 years, and the idea of using energy refreshes there is like throwing away your crystals.
  • I've used refreshes from L70 to L79.

The energy is cheaper than the Red/Blue buckets & it translates to XP as your leveling.

I've gotten quite a few mods from there but in turn 80% of it is crap I sell off for credits to fund by XP Levels & Star costs.

That said, when I ding 80 & get access to slicing battles I'll probably shift all focus there & probably also reduce the # of refreshes since I hear the 80-85 grind is SSLLOOWW now matter what you do.

    Lol.

This is your experience. Not mine at all.

Unless you are constantly bouncing off the 500 mod limit, there is still good mileage in farming mods up to 85 and beyond. If you find your youself doing better credit-wise you can upgrade greys to lvl 3 and still sell at a slight profit if no +speed.
  • I have 6 sliced mods that are grade E (white) that are now providing 20-26 speed secondary each.

So grades don't matter, it's how you decide to slice (stop / proceed) to be efficient with your mod salvages & credits.
  • Slicing has been really good to me lately. Been getting lots of consexutive speed rolls for my CLS team's mods and am getting the mats from refeshing mod energy and doing mod battles almost daily.
