Why is Rey so strong?

I'm not farming her, I have more immediate needs. I prefer characters that make the whole squad better, she is just a ridiculously strong attacker. She may or may not be a Mary Sue in TFA, but she definitely is in this game. It's one thing if they made her strong, but her attacks are way-over-the-top strong.
