Zombie's taunt does change your target selection during auto

So yeah, my BH team is much deadlier than most of the NS teams on my shard, but on auto I keep noticing that no matter what they stay on zombie the whole time, even after:
I kill Zombie
Greedo dispells it
Cad dispells it

Zombie's taunt doesn't just taunt it steals targeting, even after I reset the target to Daka or someone else

I feel like this is not WAI because Zombie takes the taunt and loses it. Initial target selection is another mechanic. I shouldn't have to manually handle a team that my team could wipe if the mechanics were working correct.
  • It is WAI. That means it's working as they want it to work. It has nothing to do with how you want it to work.

    I disagree fully with your last sentence. If auto isn't working because of game mechanics, don't use it. IMO auto should only be used if you are guaranteed to win with it on, or you need to beat the clock. Since neither case applies here, don't use it.
  • All of the taunts/retargets causes the same, it will never go back to your targeting unless you click it in the process while on auto.

    Fair enough. It's just another thing in the world I think is stupid. If they can write paragraphs explaining other then....

    Nevermind. I just looked at everything they wrote for Zombie's endless horde. It's long enough.

    My big question is whether that happens when BH are on defense in arena against them or is there a random targeting mechanism.

    AI =/= auto with target circle
  • I guess it does make sense. IDK. Why would aggressors not keep attacking after someone "loses taunt." If they were "taunted" into attacking to begin with I guess it makes sense that they keep attacking until the target is dead, although in the case of Zombie it does die....
  • You can unclick the circle and then there’s no selected targeting and it will be the same as on defense.

If you had someone other than the taunter targeted before the taunting, should the targeting go back to the original target after the taunter is dispelled or killed? It seems logical to me that it would, but perhaps I am being biased here because that mechanic would help my gameplay.

    People probably haven’t thought about it because it doesn’t affect them at all since they’re not using auto in situations where this would matter. If you’re paying enough attention to the auto fight to notice this you can just keep manually selecting the target you want.
  • Had the same thought and imho the target selection should be "sticky" ie. you select the target and the reticle doesn't move until the target is dead and your team simply attacks that target if they are able to do so (no else is taunting, is marked etc.). This seems to me like a bit lesser evil than what we have now where often someone taunts for half a second (sion) and your team then proceeds to waste abilities and basics on a wrong target (thus messing the battle up) because there's only so much manual target correction you can do at 4x speed :/

    My arena rank is 400-300. I got NS teams in there. I have to do 2 manuals a day for my crystals. That's the only reason I look
