This sounds more like the activity of an arena shard chat than a bug, but I'm sure the team can look at this for you. To me this appears to be other players locking you in place to prevent you taking first from someone else. If they can't beat your Executor they'll enter battle against you and timeout, leaving you little time to reclaim first.

Did the messaging say you were already engaged in battle or that your opponent was?
