"Follow the workaround" is not helpful in the slightest for 2 main reasons.

Firstly, after finding out this is an issue it's too late, the mission has already been attempted, the points lost, and it cannot be reattempted.

Secondly, focusing on the summon while leaving Scythe and all the Tie Fighters to pummel your fleet into oblivion will likely result in a loss anyway.
