I need to refresh my memory about something (jobs, friends)

What I remember from Sims 1, is that you at some point needed certain amount of friends to get promoted (something I really don't miss, since making friends in TS1 was a total pain). What I can't remember though, is what happened if you got the promotion, then lost the friendship. Would you get demoted right away, or how was that? If someone can remember I'd appreciate if you could tell me, it's been bugging me for a few days now. xD

    No, you wouldn't get demoted for losing a friend. You'd just need an extra friend for the next promotion.

    Ah, good. Thanks. :) It's been a very long time since I played it, couldn't remember. ^^
