move_objects on doesn't work
I'm playing the current updated version of the sims 1 that came out on EA app on pc, i think its called the legacy version? no mods or cc trying to use the cheat 'move_objects on' and its not workin...

I just checked. Used the cheat, it was on. I could place stuff on the street and outside of the lot area. But indeed, cannot move objects with the Alt. That just makes me move my position.
So it is not a glitch. They made changes to the game. Zoom +/- with mouse wheel... and seems Alt is to move the screen now. (on top of the other options to do so)
I bet that is the whole issue. The key got another function 😟
not talking about the alt button. i'm saying that with move objects apparently on, i cannot place things on the lot. i want to put a **bleep** couch and bookshelf next to each other but it highlights red, even after "turning on" move objects. nothing is letting me place stuff properly. i can place it fine on the grid. but if i want something 1 tile closer and it highlights red, i use move objects cheat, but then the item still highlights red!!!!!!
Ah, sorry, misunderstood. Yeah, you're right, it doesn't work like it used to. Just gives you the ability to put stuff outside of the lot area, but it doesn't let you put things closer as it should. ☹️
