Open your installed apps if your in win 10/11 look for an app that says opencl, opengl, and Vulkan and uninstall it that should let you launch the game. I also went in to the property's and changed the default to launch with winsxp service pack 3 so it is more stable

I am trying to play Sims 1 in Parallels, a virtual engine, on an iMac M3, so I do not have Vulcan or any of the others mentioned. How do I get Sims 1 to play? Sims 2 plays with no problem.

This worked! thank you so much! I updated nvidia, uninstalled and reinstalled my V C++ redistributables, attempted to install Vulkan SDK (did nothing) and this finally worked for me.
Since this is a duplicate and the users have posted elsewhere, I'll lock it here.
