If this has been recognized already, I apologize. There is a LOT here about the legacy version of The Sims and I still consider myself a novice in program troubleshooting. While looking for an error log in the root folders of the game I was checking the InstallLog.txt

Reading that last portion of the log, and I may be wrong, makes me think that the Visual Studio Runtime setup failure may be the reason I can't get past the icon showing on my taskbar for less than 5 seconds before shutting down and landing me back in the EA app
