The Sims 1 Legacy Cannot Wash Pets

So I'm struggling here. I have a pet, and have grinding my tricks, obedience ect, but come to find out I thought my sim was washing my pet but doesn't actually do it. So he fills the tub, calls, and then it drains immediately. I've put the wash station against the wall, outside, in an open space. The pet will be directly next to the tub. Deleted the tub, bought a new one. Nothing I do will get my pet to be cleaned, and now the pet will run away. Any ideas?

  • Found out a few seconds after I call the pet, and the tub is then drained immediately, is that the dog will come. I even went to the pet store to try to wash my dog there and it still did the same very quick animation of tub fill and drain.

  • I hope EA is fixing all these bugs. It was very scummy of them to re-release Sims 1 and Sims 2 in such a broken state.

  • This is still happening, even after the SDX drop fix that came out today. I went to The charming house and went to Kat's house and rezzed a tub, and same issue happened.

I'm having the same issue as well. I was playing as Claire trying to bathe Luna, but no luck.

Same my Sim ran a bath for the dog, and then drained the bath. My pet never got in!

I FOUND A WORKAROUND SOLUTION THAT REPLENISHES YOUR PET’S HYGIENE BAR WITHOUT THE PET WASHING TUB! I was having the exact same issue, but I did figure out a workaround.

    1. Save your game.
    2. Hit ctrl+shift+c and enter (with no quotes) “move_objects on” in the cheat bar and press enter.
    3. Go to build or buy mode, select your pet, and delete them. Sometimes you may have to delete their plumbob first and then delete their physical body.
    4. Go back to live mode and double click your pet’s icon at the bottom of the screen and they will respawn with all needs bars replenished.

Just make sure you save your game before trying it because you may otherwise lose any skill points you gained in your current save.
You can also do this for your sims! Note that the “Room” bar’s fill status will be based on the location they respawn in, though…so it won’t always be full when they respawn, depending on the decor of the room/yard they respawn in.

I wish EA would just fix the pet washing tub bug, though. 🥲 This workaround beats having dirty pets that are perpetually cranky.
