Aliens and witches and vampires oh my!

So I haven’t brought any non humans into my city yet. I read something about problems with some of them. So tell me what I should be watching out for. What kind of problems can any of these creatures cause?

When you say problems, do you mean any chaos they may create? I don't know of any glitches, but there are some annoyances that I have had within my game.

If the Evil Witch appears on a community lot, she casts a spell that brings roaches. This is definitely one of my grates when it happens on a business lot. :s

I once had an entire family of werewolves that were all knowledge Sims. When I decided I was tired of them all being werewolves and wanted to cure them, I had to bounce around a lot to see who had the fear of who being cured. Argh, what a pain to avoid triggering fears.
They also howl...a lot if you aren't micromanaging them and other Sims will constantly be peeing themselves. Lots of puddles to mop up.
They gain full energy at transformation so unless you use a tent (it doesn't have the specified reduction of energy to sleep), having a day job can be rough.

Vampires will die in sunlight - fast! If their needs are low, it can be a pain to get them to go to their coffins to escape. I've read that having a house with no windows will solve the issue of them dying outside the coffin even while indoors.

Bigfoot constantly makes food - even if is hunger is full. Guess when he's bored, he eats.

I can't think of any other problems off hand, but I hope this is what you were looking for.

When you are on a Downtown lot and one of them shows up, they can autonomously turn Sims. So if you want control of the Vampire population, I would leave the lot when you see them enter (or keep them entertained until sunrise ;) ).

This only happens once YOU'VE made them turn one of your own Sims. And they'll stop after like around 10% of the Sims are turned.

Keep in mind the Count/Countess aren't programmed to avoid the object Sims that you shouldn't mess with if you want to avoid game corruption. So once you make the first one, leave the lot if you get both Mrs. Crumplebottom (or any of the other object Sims) and the Count/Countessa.
  • Hint for playing Werewolves: just give them one or two cups of espresso in the afternoon. Should be enough to keep them up to 8pm, when they transform. :)

Now you only need to keep them occupied with actions through the night to avoid howling.

Thank you @Seera1024 . I think game corruption was something I read about way back that I was concerned about. I've thought that I might just stick with witches and aliens and leave the vampires and werewolves alone just to be safe. I was kind of hoping to play out the Bella, Edward, Jacob drama from Twilight but it sounds a bit too risky.
